Servas members are joining and/or supporting 50 walkers, pilgrims for Peace. Recently  in Holland, Servas walkers reported

‘Often, in the villages and towns we passed through, we were welcomed by the mayor, a choir, and a lunch, and we got talking to people; so many people feel the unrest in the world and are concerned and committed to peace.’

Could you help them to cross boundaries by WALKING with them, OFFER A SPACE or making a DONATION?

The Peacewalk shows when and where the route passes and where hospitality is needed. This allows the regional contact person to plan ahead effectively, arranging a church hall, mosque, canteen or monastery for each night, including Servas hosts. Every walker is a peacebuilder.

Peacewalk has converging routes

Setting off from Spain in January, and from Belgium, Paris, Berlin, Cologne and Poland in early May, these routes converge in Budapest. From northern Italy, via Sarajevo, there joining the route to Jerusalem, all hope to arrive in Jerusalem/Al-Quds via northern Greece, Turkey and Jordan in May/June 2027.

There are many others who demonstrate that non-violent resistance can overcome division. We are following in their footsteps.

“The Future Is Peace”

The Peacewalk is inspired by Palestinians and Jews who believe that Peace is the only truly conceivable future and that coexistence is indeed possible.

Rikko Voorberg, Peacewalk organiser in the Netherlands, cites seasoned peace activists
Israeli Maoz Inon and the Palestinian Aziz Abu Sarah, both of whom lost family members in this war, and refuse to become each other’s enemies. They acknowledge each other’s pain.
